Record Rainfall In Pompano Beach 3+ inches -

Overnight heavy rain surprise for residents in Northeast Broward County, FL, where a convergence band line setup helping to produce slow training showers. This very small mesoscale convergence boundary helped slow moving showers to be enhanced along it as they moved inland from the Atlantic waters. Pompano Beach airport picked up over 3 inches of rain in 1 ½ hours overnight. At one point the National Weather Service in Miami had to issue a urban flood advisory for northeastern Broward County until 3am early this morning. This was the only area of any significant precipitation at the time, and most of the rain fell over a very small area causing some localized street flooding. Just enough moisture and convergence helped to bring some well needed rainfall, but unfortunately for a very small region of Southeast Florida. If you were not in Pompano Beach last night, you likely didn’t see much of any rain. Quite the impressive little convective rain setup for January.

Dense Fog Advisories, Inland Fog Issues -

Pompano Beach might have seen some decent rain overnight, but many other locations in South Florid were dealing with very dense fog early this morning, especially interior locations. Dense fog advisories were in place much of the this morning for inland portions of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Calm winds and plenty of surface moisture in place we leading to perfect fog development from the Everglades northward into the Lake Okeechobee region.
