October 2, 2009 – My fellow Storm Chaser and partner Jim Edds, is currently on the island of Saipan for Typhoon Melor. This is a recent exclusive video update from him for Weatherzine. He has been driving around Saipan shooting scenes before the storm, and interviewing some of the locals of the island talking about the nearing storm. Typhoon Melor is expected to become a Super Typhoon and pass just to the north of the island as of the latest forecast track.
I’m in communication with Jim several times a day via Skype video, and expecting further updates from Jim during the passage of the large Typhoon over the next day or two. Jim is currently on a two month Typhoon chase expedition in the Northwest Pacific Ocean, and basing himself out of Guam. For more updates on Jim, visit his personal website at: Extremestorms.com

Jeff that was cool Jim mentioned you and your site. Jim is funny… I liked the clip! Hugs Mom/Morgan
Hey, I saw Jim (my second cousin that I finally met in ‘90 when I was attending the University of West Florida) doing hurricane coverage on the Discovery Channel! When I last saw him he was living in Marathon and working for the Evironmental Protection Agency (or something like that). I looked him up on facebook and ended up at your site…. Please tell him I said “Hi” and wish him well in his new “risky” profession! What a life though, traveling to beautiful and exotic locations, even if they are at the brink of disaster!
I live in Houston now and would loved to have seen him when he was covering Ike! Please pass on the greeting and good luck to you guys… be careful!
Sincerely, Piper
